Alliance, OH, April 2, 2013 – Alliance, Ohio-based AMVONET has been selected by East Liverpool, Ohio-based Chesterton Group in a partnership to provide a southeastern Ohio high school with online college preparatory courses. Together the companies plan to deliver courses in an asynchronous learning environment and move to a synchronous virtual learning environment (VLE) in the next phase of the project. Internet penetration, mobile connectivity and data storage are sufficiently pervasive at a price point to allow e-Learning to be a highly cost-efficient solution. The timing is right for a big expansion in the use of e-Learning across a variety of industries like education, healthcare and corporate development and training.
Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for AMVONET, Chris Kiminas, comments, “We are excited the Chesterton Group selected AMVONET’s Learning Content Management System (LCMS) for this high school online education project. We look forward to working with the Chesterton Group’s innovative project team and subject matter experts on creating and delivering these initial online courses. It is a great partnership – we provide the management system technology and support and they design and create compelling content.”
According to IBIS Capital, Global e-Learning Investment Review in January of this year, “Both in the corporate training and educational markets, research consistently confirms an increasing demand for e-Learning solutions. In 1995, only 4% US corporations were using online learning – the figure today is 77%.”
AMVONET has created a comprehensive, integrated SaaS software suite consisting of an e-learning management system, a live web-conferencing and virtual classroom solution, and a content-authoring application. In addition to the K-12 and higher education markets, AMVONET offers distance-learning business and healthcare solutions for continuing education, corporate training, online collaboration and interactive recordings. AMVONET’s online system provides educators and trainers with everything they need to create, manage and share multimedia course content.
